Super Lord

An interesting entry for the Skanska Grand Prix, the third of the four VP qualification races, is Super Lord. I am told that he is currently stabled with trainer Cestmir Olehla at Svetla Hora, and if all goes will he will remain there until October.

I cite the Czech language pages of the Paddock Revue web site: "Finally, after all these years, someone in England, where the season is just beginning, has listened to our advice. That is, that they should bring their horse to us in the summer, have it prepared in the Czech Republic, let it run in August and September and get to know the racecourse. In this way, it will improve its chances in the Velka," says Mirek Petran, president of the board of Dostihovy spolek, organisers of events at Pardubice raceourse, with reference to Super Lord, trained by Graham Smith.

Super Lord won a couple of point-to-points in Ireland, and then went to England in 2005, where he was trained until quite recently by J.A.B. Old. At first he did quite well, but his results in the last twenty months have been poor. Perhaps the fresh air in the Jesenik Mountains will have revived his interest in racing - Svetla Hora means Bright Mountain.

It is interesting that Jan Faltejsek is riding Super Lord on Saturday, and not Wrbna Racing's Baggio, on which he won well last time out.
