Contrary to what I absentmindedly wrote yesterday, St Petersbourg runs in Italian not French colours. And the owner, Mrs. Francesca Montanari, also owns Fils A Papa.

Sharstar, this year's favourite, won the race in 2008, when he was 4-y.o. However, no 4-y.o. runs this year and the age of the contestants range from 5 (four horses) to 10 (one).

All the runners are geldings - no stallions or mares this year.
